Chronic Foot Pain Can Be Severe
Chronic Foot Pain can be very hard to live with. The pain can be caused from so many different things. For this reason there is no one general diagnosis. It will vary with your symptoms.
If you are a runner and have Chronic Foot Pain then there are probably ways to help relieve your pain. You should consult a podiatrist about the problem and for treatment options.
Many times this type of foot pain is the result of wearing shoes that do not fit properly and make the feet or toes not fit well in the toe box. Women who wear high heeled shoes put a lot of pressure on the toes. After a prolonged period of time this causes injury.
One condition that can lead to Chronic Foot Pain is osteoarthritis. This condition causes the cartilage in the foot to deteriorate. When this happens there is friction between the bones which leads to severe foot pain. If this condition is not corrected with medical attention, permanent damage can occur. Issues that cause osteoarthritis include being obese, having a joint injury or just simply getting older.
Another cause of severe foot pain is a condition called gout. It is caused by too much uric acid in the joints and can make the feet hurt very badly. It is more common in men. It is also more common in people that have diabetes or are obese or have kidney problems.
Ingrown toenails can also cause Chronic Foot Pain. This happens when the corners of the toenail grow into the toe’s skin. The toe becomes swollen and painful. This condition is most prevalent among people who consistently wear tight shoes and those who do not cut their toenails properly. Another painful condition is Corns. These happen from too much friction and can cause problems with the nerves in the foot.
One condition that certainly requires specialist attention is a March Fracture. This is a stress fracture in the foot that could mean a breakage to one of the five metatarsal bones in the foot. These injuries can occur from too much exercise, from jogging or from doing high impact aerobics. Some people who have weak bones can break a metatarsal bone very easily. Sometimes this can occur just by simply moving the foot the wrong way.
There are several reasons why you could be experiencing Chronic Foot Pain. If you are suffering from severe foot pain, you should seek medical attention especially if the pain lasts longer than a few weeks. You should always try to keep your body in shape with regular exercise and always remember to warm up before exercising by doing some stretching movements. Eat healthy, keep your weight down and take proper care of your feet. Your doctor can give you more helpful tips to prevent future Chronic Foot Pain
from happening.
